IMPORTANT NOTE re: Saturday - please read as some instructions have changed
Hi Everyone
Ngā mihi
The kapa haka committee.
Just a few days to go now - we have made some changes to the timings for Saturday to make it easier to get our tamariki dressed and ready. Please read the below and get in touch in need.
We are now meeting at school (hub 5/6) at 11am.
- Any parents who can help get our tamariki ready (clothes, hair feathers, moko) would be appreciated.
- Parents of our tamahine (daughters), it would help if they had a pony tail or bun to put the feathers into, where possible.
- Parents will be responsible for taking their children's clothes with them
- Please bring back any poi to school as soon as you can so we have enough for Saturday.
We will then go to the event at 11.45am and meet in the Glen Innes community centre.
Other than that, everything is as per previously advised.
Song List
Want to do some last minute practice? The waiata we are singing are:
- Wairua Tapu
- Kumea Mai Ra
- Kapoipoia
- Toia
- Tika Tonu (haka)
- Kua Rongo Mai Koe
- Tiaho Mai Ra
All of these songs except Tiaho Mai Ra are on our waiata page - click here. Tiaho Mai Ra is extremely popular and you can find it on youtube.
Lastly - want to see what our hosts can do?
Some of our tamariki and our tutors went to the official powhiri for the festival - click the link to see what we were treated to while we shared a kai. A small group with some very big voices!
Ngā mihi
The kapa haka committee.
