Image
Welcome back everyone from your term one holidays.  Hope you all managed to relax and have lots of fun, in between practising for our upcoming Kapa Haka concert. :) I would just like to start off by saying a huge thank you to the parents / caregivers who were able to give up some of their time to help us raise money doing a sausage sizzle at Mitre 10.  We raised a massive $705. So thank you, you are all amazing and we really appreciate your participation. Our first customer. Thank you Michaell for your support.     Speaking of amazing, this term we are wanting to showcase our AWESOME learners and all the hard work they have put in over the last term.  We are going to be putting on a concert in mid June to celebrate Mataariki, the Maori new year. Kapa Haka Committee Invite

We Need You!  Your ideas, your skills and your expertise. We want to openly invite our Kapa Haka parents to come and join us to discuss what direction the Kapa Haka group will be aspiring to achieve in the future.   The first term was full with new songs and experiences and we dreams of using these experiences to take our group to a new level.   We are really wanting to engage with our new and existing parents to help take us towards the collective vision of the group.   Your contribution is valued.   Please do your best to be there!  We will be meeting in Hub 1 from 6:00 – 7:15 on Tuesday the 28 th of April.   Please comment below if you have any questions or queries.

First Practise For Our Upcoming Show.

Today we got started on practise for a big show we have planned for next term. While a group of learners went with Matua Jipsy and Whaea Rongomai to work on their ti rau skills, Matua Chris lead the juniors singing E nga hau e wha.   This is a song that some of our learners are familiar with as we had learnt & performed it  towards the end of last year. Our new learners to Kapa Haka did a great job today, being determined as they learnt this new song and the actions to go along with it. We are hoping that as well as having lots of holiday fun, our learners will also find some time to continue practising over the school holidays. The waiatas lyrics, videos & music that we are learning can be found on the side of the blog under Labels.            Te Rakau practise with Matua Jipsy & Whaea Rogomai.     Practising E ngā hau e whā with Matua Chris. On behalf of the Kapa Haka tutor tea...

SAUSAGE SIZZLE THIS WEEKEND AT MITRE 10

Kia Ora, This Saturday (4th April), the Kapa Haka group will be putting on a susage sizzle at the Mitre 10 Mega store on Lunn Ave from 8:30am - 4:30pm. This is to help fundraise for uniforms and the other things we have planned for this year. We are hoping that lots of our Stonefields friends & families will come down and support the cause by either buying one, or heaps of sausages. If sausages aren’t your poison then any donation would be fantastic. Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
