Team, for those that are still keen to keep up their learning with Kapa Haka we've found some good resources online. This tutor has been posting up some resources . You'll have to have a Facebook account to access it, so you might have to share yours with your learner. Not all are our songs however Matua Whaitiri is an incredible teacher that I'm sure the learners will utilise. Follow him on Facebook. He's being very ambitious but is posting daily at the moment. Hello Kapa Haka Parents! I apologise that this message is late.  Wednesday is the last Kapa Haka practice for this year.  We want to celebrate our learners by inviting family and friends to attend and watch them perform one last time.  Normal practice time of 8am.  We will be having a shared breakfast so if you are keen to contribute a small dish to share amongst the group that would be really appreciated. On behalf of the Kapa Haka tutors we would like to thank you all for your continued support for the group.  We hope you all have a great break and come back refreshed for next year.  We have lots of fun events in the pipeline for next year so we are keen to kick off the year with a bit of momentum! Kia Ora Koutou, There has been considerable interest in our Stonefields Kapa Haka shirts and hooded tops.  We secured our funding from  Alexander Motors  and from our fundraising events over the past year.  We have been extremely fortunate to have been able to provide Kapa Haka t-shirts for our learners at no cost to our families.  The generosity has been outstanding. Our Design Chris Henoa has been working on the design for the past year.  The vision was to ensure that the design incorporates what makes this group special.  There are links to the school, the land and our protectors.  The detail is phenomenal.  When we get a chance we will ask Chris to provide a summary of the design so we can all understand it’s journey.  We can now be proud of something that represents this group. What’s Happening On Friday the 1st of July the school is doing it's first official school wide hangi experience.  This is an opportunity for the children and community.  The school has provided the community with a hangi pit and now this is our opportunity to showcase it to the community.  As the Kapa Haka community we will be working in partnership with the school to be able to perform it.  This is a massive undertaking.  In 2014 we completed a hangi for our Marae noho which was for 150 people, this time we are looking at feeding around 600 people.  This will be an incredible and ambitious undertaking. Why Is It Important Not only is this important for our children but also for our community.  Our community will benefit from experiencing traditional Maori cooking.  We can share the culture and assist the school in connecting with its biculturalism values.  Food can bring the community together but what we learnt from the l...
