Noho 2017
Kia Ora everyone
Term 2 is here already and that means it is time to confirm some details about our noho (sleepover) on the 27 & 28 May.
What's happening
Focus
For this noho, we wanted to provide our tamariki with an understanding of the history of Stonefields and a greater connection to the whenua (land) on which our school and homes are built.
We are very excited to have have kaumatua of two different tribes that are associated with Maungarei (Mt Wellington) and the surrounding areas coming to speak to us on Saturday.
We are also going to do lots of practicing and have a lot of fun!
We need parent help!
We are more than happy for attending parents to choose to listen and learn alongside their tamariki, however we also need as many helpers as possible, especially in the kitchen for food preparation and organisation, cleanup and to help supervise the children and take pressure off the tutors.
Please let the committee know at kapahaka@stonefields.school.nz if you would like to help. Helpers will be invited to attend a briefing on 18 May.

Notes for parents
- As part of our kawa (protocol), our noho is alcohol free
- We have decided not to do a hangi but will provide all meals during the noho (and can cater to most dietary requirements)
- First preference is given to kapa haka participants however we may also be able to accommodate siblings and we will advise once the numbers are finalised
