2015 Kapa Haka Schedule

Purpose
This communication is to share the proposed schedule of events for the remainder of this school year.

Background
We have been listening to the feedback from our parents.  One of the items was on how we could calendar the year for the learners so that they are aware.  Thank you all for this feedback, as it has been high on our list also.

Previously we communicated our aspirations of creating a whanau kotahi (one family) environment as well as nurturing our future leaders confidence in themselves as well as Te Ao Maori (the Maori world) through waiata (songs) and dance.  We want to share our schedule for the remainder of the year.

Your Support
You will notice that we are ambitious.  For this reason we are asking for your support.  To achieve whanau kotahi, we need to have engagement with the learners but also with the families.  Support comes in many forms:
  • Practicing at home with your kids
  • Keeping up to date with what’s on the blog
  • Coming to the odd practice on Wednesdays (8am Hub 1)
  • Taking recordings of practices so we can update the blog
  • Coming on the group excursions; Food, cleaning toilets, experiencing with the learners
  • Connecting the group to resources at your disposal e.g. audio / visual equipment
  • Helping with fundraising i.e. applications for grants, sausage sizzles, manning the stalls etc.
There are lots of ways that we can each connect with the group.  From last years experience, we have an amazing community that want to help but don’t always know how.  If you fit into this group then we suggest that you do one of the following:
We welcome your support in which ever form it may take.

Summary
Your support will assist in the successful delivery of cultural experience for your children and your family.  Your assistance in helping us achieve this is imperative.  If you have any questions or require clarification can you please contact Bryan Fox 021 804448.
