Welcome Back to Term 4 (Performance Term)
Welcome back to Term 4. We hope that everyone has had some time out and about. The Fox whānau spent a week in Wellington to hang out with our extended whānau. We felt fortunate to have been able to travel. Although very brief, catching up with people was good for our hauora. The kids had a chance to recharge and fill up on experiences outside of Auckland. Summer sports are kicking off soon so the kids are getting prepared for a busy spring/summer.
I had the chance to reflect on what we did in Term 3. With minimal practices I think our group did a great job with their performance in the Matariki Concert. I've made it clear to our local schools that I think we need to do those sort of concerts more often but at a minimum we can do annually. We've started to embed a Friday 30 min practice at the end of the day which lifts all of our spirits as we close off the week. In those practices we get to perform with Te Puawaitanga, which has lifted our energy and enthusiasm. Bringing the two groups together has been a good initiative. We are hoping that by changing the practice times that we will attract more of the Te Puawaitanga learners to join in.
As much as we love
practicing and building our kete of skills, performing is a way to execute what
we've learnt. Our rōpū thrive on performances. When they get the uniform and
moko on they all seem to lift. Term 4 is packed full of performance
opportunities:
·
The
Term 4 Pōwhiri (12/10)
·
Blessing
of the new building (14/10)
·
The
official opening of the new hubs (28/10)
·
The
Te Kotuku Festival (21/11)
·
EOY
Kapa Haka Celebration (to parents) (9/12)
· Learner Achievement Celebration (11/12)
Goals for this term are:
·
Gradually
introducing more waiata (we have 7 to introduce this term)
·
Ensure
that we give the rōpū all the opportunities to perform
·
Embed
the Wednesday practices (showing value to kapa haka by being incorporated in
school time)
·
Embed
the Friday afternoon performances. Invite parents to view (when alert levels
are appropriate)
· Acknowledge all of our leaving members. Give them a good sending off
We need your continued support to ensure we hit these targets. If you can help in any way e.g. Jump in and learn the waiata, play the guitar or have ideas on how to lift our children's experience then please either leave comments or have a chat. We are open to improvement opportunities and ways to keep it interesting if we have the help to achieve them.

Hi there, my daughter has recently joined Kapa haka and is loving it. Asking for her feedback, she commented that she doesn't know what any of the waiata are about and would love to know more about the stories behind them or a rough translation into English so that she understands more about what she is performing. She is loving being involved though but I thought I would pass on her ideas on how she could get even more out of it. Many thanks for the time you and team put into teaching the kids!!
ReplyDeleteWhen you have worked a lifetime to build a family and a legacy, you cannot let a third-party shadow destroy it in a matter of months. I realized that my husband’s sudden change in character was a spiritual interference, not just a mid-life crisis.
ReplyDeleteI contacted Mystic Kakaa for a private intervention. His work was surgical. He identified the shadow and removed it permanently without any public drama. Within 5 days, my husband’s focus returned to our home and our future. If you are protecting a high-value life and need a master who understands discretion, contact him at: dawnacuna314@gmail.com

I went to see a doctor and many blood tests were done on me, later on I was told I had Herpes. My doctor told me that there’s no cure for Herpes. I felt bad, I went online searching for a possible cure for Herpes Virus, I saw a post of Dr. Dawn, a herbal doctor that’s helping people get cured from Herpes.Cancer.HIV and more I contacted him and told him how I’m feeling. He said his herbal medicine can cure me. He sent me the medicine via UPS delivery service and I received the medicine 6 days after he sent it, i took the medicine as prescribed by him. Before I completed the medication the symptoms stopped. I went to the doctor and carried out another blood test, surprisingly I was Negative. I haven’t had any symptoms anymore.
